Monthly Informational Luncheons

The Chapter conducts monthly luncheon meetings on the second Wednesday of every month. During each luncheon a presentation is given on various topics related to environmental issues and impacts facing Southern Nevada.

August 13, 2008 - Irene Navis, Planning Manager for Clark County Nuclear Waste Division, Will speak about the ongoing review process of the Yucca Mountain application.

September 10, 2008 - Lynn Orphan, CWC Regional Water Quality Manager, will speak about SCOP (Systems Conveyance and Operations Program), which is creating a tunnel with hydroelectric generation and a moveable wastewater discharge system into Lake Mead.

October 8, 2008 - Daniel Fisher, Laboratory Superintendent for the City of Las Vegas, will speak on wastewater collection, treatment, and discharge into Las Vegas Wash.

November, 12, 2008 - Will Elcoate, Test America Inc., will speak on Vapor Intrusion Investigations.

March 12, 2008 - Rodney Langston, Principal Planner CCDAQEM, Will speak on Clark County Road Dust Measurement Studies

February 13 , 2008 - Constant Tra, Center for Business and Economic Research at UNLV, Will speak on evaluating economic benefits of air quality improvements in the Los Angeles basin.
